Our travel plans for 2013!

We’re extremely excited to announce our travel plans for 2013!

It’s been difficult trying to decide where next to travel to, especially as we’re having such a great time here in Chiang Mai, but we’ve finally decided that in 2013 our travel schedule will look something like this:

February: We’ll be hanging out and working in the Thai islands as well as spending time in Bangkok.

We’ll be working hard and relaxing Thai style in Bangkok.

March – July: A little culture, beach life, dragons and hiking in Indonesia, before basing ourselves in Bali to get more work done plus a visit to East Timor. We’ll also visit Borneo and with a bit of luck we might get chance to go to Brunei too!

Mid August: Holy Udon Noodles!! We’re flying to Tokyo in Japan to put a serious dent in the bank balance and fill our stomachs with some of the best food in the world (seriously can’t wait!!), before taking the ferry to South Korea for the Autumn and some superfast internet.

We have developed a love for Japanese food here in Chiang Mai.

October: A life-long dream will be fulfilled. We’re going to Nepal to trek in the Himalayas!

It’s certainly going to be an exciting year that’s for sure with plenty of hard work to do too. We’ll be ending the year with a visit to the UK and Germany in time for the onset of winter (brrrrrr).

After a rush of blood to the head, and discovering that AirAsia are currently having a Birthday and Christmas Sale (until 2nd December with flying time up until November 2013) we spent an afternoon sitting at the laptop with the credit card – and were able to book four of the main flights….

Bangkok (Thailand) to Surabaya (Indonesia)

Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) to Tokyo (Japan)

Seoul (South Korea) to Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia)

Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) to Kathmandu (Nepal)

…. for a total of £854 (€1054, $1367) for two people including 15kg luggage each and all taxes, which is quite amazing, and with regular ferries running in Indonesia and a good service between Japan and South Korea, we’ll be able to get some ‘over-water’ travel in there too.

We’re looking forward to taking lots of flights in 2013.

We’re hoping it’s going to be an excellent year, full of adventure and we’re looking forward to documenting our travels here on Biglittleplanet.com as well as getting busy further establishing our freelance careers as Freelance English-German Translator and Graphic Designer.

We look forward to meeting up with friends and family in November 2013!
